By land
Tourists can cross over the border in the North and South of Thailand through Mae Sai, Mae Sot and Ranong. Crossing the border from Thailand is only possible for day-trippers or for short excursions. You will need to have a visa which will be valid locally and you will have to come back the same way to avoid problems with immigration.
From Kunming in China you can reach Ruili, Muse and Mandalay. The reverse itinerary can also be organized.
By sea
We have some contacts with port authorities in Yangon who can explain how to travel on boats departing from and arriving in Burma. For those interested we recommend the following book written in French by Hugo Verlomme and published by JC Lattes: “Le guide des voyages en Cargo “
